FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

We are always looking for art and writing submissions, along with Coven Congress attendees. If you are interested in either of those, fill out the form on our Contact page. Or, at the very least, read the zine! We are very proud of our work, authors, adn artists, so we would love to share it with as many people as possible.

WHAT CAN I SUBMIT?

We encourage you to submit both digital and physical art, poetry or short stories (fiction or non-fiction, Max 1,200 words) that fit within the theme of our current issue. Previously published work is accepted. Please allow a minimum of two weeks to hear our response. If accepted, we may send editing suggestions. Editing is always at the artist’s discretion and will not be published without consent.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE COVEN CONGRESS?

At Coven Congress, womxn gather to discuss their experiences. Questions vary depending on the issue but are always centered around gender issues. The host will record conversations and use them to inspire content for the edition. Attendance is voluntary but understand that anything you say at the event may be published anonymously at any time. Due to COVID-19, all of our Coven Congress meetings will be over Zoom until further notice.

HOW DO I GET A PRINT COPY?

They Call Us does not currently sell printed copies of the zine due to the high cost of printing materials. If you are interested in helping us reach our goal for printing funds, sponsor us on Patreon.

HOW DO I JOIN THE TEAM?

They Call Us is not currently hiring any additional team members but would always love more input from our community through Coven Congress and Submissions.  If you are interested in either please contact us or see our submission guidelines page.

HOW DOES A PAMPHLET DIFFER FROM AN EDITION?

An edition is what we normally produce, using art, writing, and ideas from anyone around the world who gets accepted in our zine.  Our editions tend to be surrounding artistic expression on the topic. A pamphlet is all in-house, from our group of writers and artists, focused on research.

WHY DO THE TITLES CHANGE?

Each edition focuses on a different theme. The theme is addressed in the title by the adjective chosen. Our experiences are varied and thus offer an endless amount of topics to discuss. If you have ideas of editions we could choose, please contact us.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THE FUTURE?

We plan to publish more editions, host readings, and continue to grow our Coven Congress events. Visit our Instagram to see what’s coming up.
